Newsletter September-October 2024

Dear friends,

We hope you enjoyed your summer vacations. Now it's back to work and back to our usual rhythm. At the same time, we're working on three exciting projects:

  • Following the success of the May lecture on the History of Castrati, Professor Barbier will be holding a lecture dedicated entirely to the Farinelli castrato on November 21 in Geneva. We invite you to reserve this date and let us know as soon as possible if you are available, so that we can guarantee you a reserved place. On this occasion, we'll be repeating our last formula, which met with great enthusiasm, with a meeting with the speaker and a signing session for his book on the Farinelli castrato during a dinner. The venue will be announced shortly, as soon as the collaboration contract with the host institution has been finalized.

  • Maestro Chris Merritt has confirmed his agreement to hold a MasterClass in opera singing at the end of November, organized by our association and open to young professionals. The project has entered a decisive phase with the forthcoming submission of funding applications to private foundations.

  • We are currently working on our "Lyrico-Cultural Escapade in Naples" project, originally scheduled for October, but which had to be postponed for reasons beyond our control. The new date is mid-February 2025. We will inform you of the final program in our next issue.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
